It all started in high school when I found my passion for singing. I ended up meeting Lincoln on the baseball team where I learned he had a band and we called ourselves “The Aces”. He talked me into buying my first guitar and Lincoln’s dad Dustin O’Neal proceeded to teach me “The G Chord” and I took off after that. Before playing any shows as “The Aces”, I had been on my church’s worship team where I was playing guitar and singing. A couple years go on and I graduate college, Lincoln is talking about moving to Destin and if I wanted to come with. Of course I decided yes. We continued our musical journey in Destin for about a year before meeting Randy. A few months roll on and we are able to find Brent. Since adding Randy & Brent our sound has improved incredibly from where we have started. I’m glad to be where i’m at with this band, and can’t wait to see what the future might hold! Hopefully I see you at a show!
Born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. I began playing guitar at age 4. My dad was a master at anything with strings but his main instrument was the banjo. The greatest gifts he ever gave me was the desire to work and fostering my love for music. I have played in many bands over the years but I gotta say, "The Aces" is the best so far. I have had the privilege to play with some heavy hitters in years past but this band is something different. Its something special. It helps when the members are friends first. This band is kinda like family. We complain at each other like all humans but when it comes down to it we are all on the same page of music. We want to make music; music that sounds good and music that people want to hear. We do not just want to be in a "loud" band.
Growing up, I always watched my Dad pick up his Taylor and mumble songs. I thought he was Stevie Ray Vaughan. Then one day I asked for him to teach me. He sat patiently with me when I was 13, my little hands could barely reach the top string, but he taught me “the G chord” as he tells my friends. Then and there, it was off to the races. He eventually bought me an electric. Then Jerrick, Will, and I started “The Aces” in 2019! After high-school, Jerrick and I moved to Destin and did a 2 man show for a year. Long story short, Randy then Brent came along and we couldn’t be any happier. Best bandmates around!
My musical journey began in 1970. My brother got married, moved out and left his drum set when I was 10 years old. I put on Led Zeppelin 1 and taught myself to play. In the 80’s I found country music but never lost my love of rock n roll. In the early 90s I was with a country band in Atlanta. We did showcases in Nashville, and we did a demo on music row; came close to a deal with a major label. Anyway, I have been playing most every weekend since then. I still love to entertain!
